The Blind Side is a 2009 American sports drama film that tells the true story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All-American football player and first-round NFL draft pick. The film, written and directed by John Lee Hancock, is based on the 2006 book of the same name by Michael Lewis.

Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, Quinton Aaron, and Jae Head Star

Sandra Bullock stars in the film as Leigh Anne Tuohy, the determined mom who takes Oher into her affluent family. Tim McGraw plays her husband, Sean Tuohy. Quinton Aaron portrays Oher, and Jae Head plays his younger brother, S.J. Tuohy.

Based on a True Story

The Blind Side is based on the true story of Michael Oher, who was homeless and living on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee, when he was taken in by the Tuohy family. With the help of their love and support, Oher went on to become a successful football player at the University of Mississippi and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Critical and Commercial Success

The Blind Side was a critical and commercial success. It received two Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Bullock. The film also won a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Drama.
