The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has established deadlines for reviewing multiple Ethereum ETF applications. The agency has asked exchanges to update their 19b-4 filings for ether ETFs ahead of a critical deadline, signaling possible approval.
Standard Chartered anticipates that the ETFs could be approved as early as May 23. However, the deadline is subject to change based on applicant updates. David Lawant and Purvi Maniar of Vetr believe that if applicants begin updating their filings by April, it could indicate optimism for approval.
If approved, Ethereum ETFs would provide a convenient and regulated way for investors to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency without purchasing it directly. This development could further bolster the legitimacy and accessibility of Ethereum and the broader cryptocurrency market.
